The eco-agency Beyond Plastics has released a free practical guide for restaurant owners and managers to take significant actions to reduce and eliminate plastic from their businesses.

The restaurant industry has been under increasing scrutiny, especially for all the single-use plastic involved in take-out and fast food establishments.

And in many cases, the types of plastic involved can’t be recycled, meaning they end up in landfills or in our environment.

Treehugger has reported some interesting details about why this guide is so important.
statement
“The 47-page guide, which is free and available online for anyone to access, states that a shocking 44% of plastic litter in the ocean consists of takeout food and drink containers.”

Not only does the guide give clear step-by-step instructions on how to figure out where a restaurant can make the biggest changes, but it also provides details on how to get funding for making the right decision to eliminate plastic.

There are also ideas that can help owners reduce their operating expenses in the long run by making environmentally conscious decisions.
