The fellows who picked up our items were super nice and did a fantastic and neat job getting everything into one box. They do good work! It was a pleasure dealing with everyone in the office, too.
Everything went very smoothly. We got the heads up call as requested and the 2 gentlemen that came out didn’t require any additional assistance from us which is a huge deal as we are constantly busy here. Very professional and we’ll be calling you again when we have some more recycling that needs to be done.
Yes, the pickup went well. The guys were very nice and I’m very glad to have gotten rid of all that stuff. Thanks!

Note: All items must be at ground level or accessible by an elevator.
Thank you for completing the first step!
Please let us know what quantity and items you would like to recycle so we can reserve enough space on our truck.

What is GreenCitizen’s Business Recycling Pickup?
GreenCitizen’s business recycling pickup is a commercial e-waste recycling service for organizations across the San Francisco Bay Area, with item-level tracking through our proprietary AGTAMS (AI-powered GreenCitizen Total Accountability Management System).
We collect laptops, desktops, servers, networking equipment like switches and routers, monitors, and other office electronics directly from your facility — and any device holding data is sanitized or physically destroyed with a certificate to prove it. All material is processed domestically. Nothing is exported overseas and nothing goes to landfill.
Certificates of Data Destruction and Recycling are available upon request.
Our commercial e-waste pickup service gives businesses a secure and efficient way to recycle outdated electronics, whether you are managing an office cleanout, IT equipment refresh, relocation, downsizing, or data center decommissioning. From a few pallets of computers to racks of retired servers, we handle the entire business electronics recycling process in one scheduled visit.
What Counts as Business E-Waste?
Commercial e-waste is any electronic equipment retired from business use. For most Bay Area organizations, that means:
Computers
Laptops, desktops, all-in-ones, tablets, and phones.
Infrastructure
Servers, storage arrays, switches, routers, firewalls, and rack hardware.
Displays
LCD and LED monitors, CRT monitors, and televisions.
Office electronics
Printers, scanners, fax machines, copiers, and shredders.
Media & components
Hard drives, tape media, optical discs, cables, and toner cartridges.
Who Uses Our Business Electronics Pickup Service
We regularly service IT departments, offices, data centers, schools and universities, healthcare practices, biotech and life-science labs, law firms, retail chains, and commercial property managers coordinating tenant move-outs. Pickup volume ranges from a single pallet to a full facility decommission.
Secure Data Destruction for Business Electronics
Every retired device is a data liability until someone proves otherwise. Our pickup service includes data handling as a first-class part of the process, not an afterthought bolted on at the warehouse.
We sanitize and destroy data using methods aligned to DoD 5220.22-M and NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 1.
Data Sanitization and Physical Destruction Options
| Service | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Software-based data sanitization | $5/device | Functional drives being recycled |
| Physical hard drive destruction | $20/device | Maximum-security requirements |
| Data tape destruction (LTO/DAT/AIT/DLT) | $20/tape | Retired backup media |
| Physical destruction of mobile devices (phones or tablets) | $35/device | Cell phones and tablets with non-removable storage |
| Certified report | $5/device | Compliance audits |
**Large quantity discount to be quoted.
If a drive cannot be erased to security standards, we upgrade it to physical destruction at no additional charge. There is no scenario in which a device leaves our facility with recoverable data on it.
Large quantities are quoted at a discount. For dedicated hard drive work outside a pickup, see our hard drive data destruction service.
Before Pickup: Remove Device Locks
Please clear BIOS/EFI passwords, Apple Accounts, Device Enrollment Program enrollment, and any MDM or remote-management locks before we arrive. Locked devices can still be collected, but they cannot be sanitized and will not count toward your free-pickup qualifying items.
How to Qualify for a Free Business Electronics Recycling Pickup
To receive a free recycling pickup for your business, your request must meet these criteria:
-
1
Qualifying inventory: Your load includes a minimum of 5 qualifying items (combined) from the categories below.
-
2
Service area: Your facility is within a 35-mile radius of our Burlingame Eco-Center.
-
3
Accessibility: Items are staged at ground level, at a commercial loading dock, or reachable by elevator.
If your inventory falls short of the qualifying threshold, we can still collect it for a standard logistics fee. Submit the form above and we’ll quote it before scheduling — you will never be surprised by a charge on pickup day.

AGTAMS: Item-Level Chain of Custody
Most recycling programs go quiet the moment the truck pulls away. You get a weight ticket and a general assurance. If an auditor later asks what happened to a specific asset tag, there’s nothing to show them.
GreenCitizen tracks at the item level through AGTAMS (AI-powered GreenCitizen Total Accountability Management System), our proprietary chain-of-custody tool.
Item-Level Serialization And Chain Of Custody
We don’t just weigh pallets. Qualifying systems — laptops, desktops, and servers — are scanned into AGTAMS at pickup, creating a digital chain of custody that runs from your loading dock to our processing floor. Individual hard drives and storage media can be serialized and tracked as an additional service.
Audit-Ready ESG And Sustainability Reporting
AGTAMS can generate reporting that helps support internal and external sustainability requirements, including:
- Total weight diverted from landfills
- Estimated greenhouse gas impact (GHG) for sustainability reporting
- Material recovery breakdown (for example, metals, plastics, and glass)
Compliance Note: If you need documentation for annual sustainability reporting or ESG audits, GTAMS reporting helps turn e-waste handling into a verifiable record.
How the Business Computer & Electronics Recycling Pickup Works
Schedule and Scope
Submit your pickup request from above. We review your inventory volume, device types, and access requirements to confirm whether your request qualifies for free pickup or requires a standard pickup fee. You’ll receive a clear cost estimate before we schedule your pickup. We offer same-day and immediate (within 24 hours) pickup service.
Collection and Accountability
Our team arrives during your scheduled window and collects the equipment using documented handling procedures. Then, tracked assets are logged into AGTAMS. We can issue a Certificate of Insurance for commercial buildings — send us your property manager's COI requirements when you schedule and we'll have it ready.
Processing and Documentation
Equipment is processed at our Burlingame facility. Devices flagged for data services are sanitized or physically destroyed to DoD and NIST standards, and you receive documentation confirming completion. Detailed certified reporting including serial numbers and weight data is available at $5 per device.

FAQ
Electronics are piling up faster than the world knows what to do with them, and most of it still isn't handled responsibly. E-waste is the fastest-growing waste stream on the planet — 62 million tons generated in 2022 alone, with only about 22% properly recycled. The rest is often shipped off to developing countries, where it gets torn apart or stripped with acid to salvage valuable metals, contaminating the soil, water, and air of the communities left to deal with it. GreenCitizen exists to break that pattern: every item we collect is tracked from pickup to final disposition through AGTAMS, and everything is processed right here in the United States — nothing gets dumped overseas, and nothing disappears without a paper trail.
The pickup fee is waived if your inventory includes at least 5 qualifying items (combined total): Laptops, Desktops, Servers, Enterprise Networking gear (Switches/Routers), or LCD/LED Monitors. If your inventory only consists of non-qualifying items (e.g., printers, cables, consumer electronics), we can still provide a pickup for a standard logistics fee.
A Detailed Certified Report is available for an additional $5/device. This is recommended for compliance audits.
