What Speaker Recycling Options Are Available At GreenCitizen?
Option 1: Business Recycling Pickup
Our business speaker recycling pickup service is designed for Bay Area organizations retiring speakers during conference room AV upgrades, office cleanouts, event equipment replacement, school or nonprofit electronics cleanouts, storage-room clear-outs, and mixed electronics recycling projects.
This option is especially useful for businesses recycling speakers together with TVs, monitors, desktop computers, receivers, amplifiers, cables, office electronics, and other related equipment. Speaker loads often show up as part of a broader AV or electronics cleanup, not as a single-item recycling project, and our pickup service is structured to support that kind of mixed load.
Business Speaker Recycling Pickup Process Flow
Complete The Pickup Request Form
To schedule a pickup, fill out the pickup request form with your equipment details, service needs, and preferred pickup date and time. Include the types and quantities of speakers and related electronics you want to recycle.
Prepare Equipment For Pickup
All pickup items must be staged at a loading dock, ground-level area, or elevator-accessible location. This helps us confirm pickup readiness, handling requirements, and load size before arrival.
On-Site Collection
Our team collects the approved speakers and related electronics using a structured intake workflow designed for business equipment loads.
Option 2: Speaker Drop-Off At The Burlingame EcoCenter
Businesses and residents can drop off accepted speakers directly at our Burlingame EcoCenter. This option works well for individual speaker units, stereo pairs, small home audio cleanouts, and mixed electronics loads that include speakers together with TVs, receivers, computers, monitors, and similar equipment.
No appointment is required for drop-off, but customers must complete the Drop-Off Form. The form can be filled out before arrival or completed during intake at the EcoCenter.

Option 3: Mail-In Electronics Recycling
If you are outside our local Bay Area pickup radius, you can also use mail-in recycling for speakers and related electronics.
This option can work well for smaller speaker loads, remote offices, and out-of-area customers who want to send old speaker equipment directly to us for responsible recycling.
What Types Of Speakers And Audio Equipment Do We Accept?
We accept a broad range of speakers commonly found in homes, offices, conference rooms, entertainment setups, schools, and business AV environments.
Home Audio And Stereo Speakers
We accept common home speaker types, including stereo speakers, bookshelf speakers, floor-standing speakers, and other speakers retired during home entertainment upgrades, audio system replacements, and household electronics cleanouts.
TV And Home Theater Speakers
We also accept speakers commonly used around TVs and home theater systems, including soundbars, center channel speakers, surround sound speakers, satellite speakers, and subwoofers. These often come in with TVs, media equipment, or other entertainment electronics being cleared out at the same time.
Computer And Workspace Speakers
If you have computer speakers, desktop multimedia speakers, or smaller powered speakers used with workstations and desk setups, we accept those as well.
Business, School, And Event Speakers
For larger or more commercial audio setups, we accept speakers used in conference rooms, presentation spaces, schools, community spaces, and event environments. That can include PA speakers, powered speakers, passive speakers, and other speaker equipment retired during AV upgrades or electronics cleanouts.
Older, Broken, And Legacy Speaker Equipment
Speakers do not need to be working to be recyclable. We accept outdated, broken, non-working, and no-longer-used speakers from older stereo systems, business AV setups, home theater systems, and mixed electronics loads.
Speakers are also commonly recycled together with related electronics such as receivers, amplifiers, TVs, computers, monitors, audio cables, and AV accessories. If your load includes multiple types of equipment, we can often help you recycle them together.
