The JUMP Movement Wants Consumers to Focus on Nature
The JUMP was founded by Tom Bailey, who was Head of Research and Head of the Sustainable Consumption program for C40 Cities for six years.
According to Treehugger, this program is about sufficiency. It aims to get the consumers to question how much stuff they really need.
The JUMP wants to promote the benefits of lower consumption. Their message is that if people spend less time consuming, they’ll have more time to be creative, celebrate, do crafts, and care about others.
The movement wants people to live for joy and not stuff. Bailey reiterates that the movement doesn’t want people to sacrifice and stop consuming completely. Instead, they want to help people see the world better and live more fully.
Some of the ways in which people can achieve this are to dress retro, get rid of clutter, eat green, spend holidays locally, and more.
