TechBridge Initiative
An initiative to help foster the youth! GreenCitizen’s TechBridge Initiative is a student-led volunteer program aimed at reducing the digital divide for foster youth. By accumulating volunteer hours, students earn refurbished laptops for these youth through the Human Services Agency in San Mateo.
GreenCitizen sponsors the TechBridge Initiative, a student run volunteer group that bridges the digital divide. For every 30 volunteer hours accumulated by the student team, GreenCitizen donates a refurbished laptop to foster youth through the Human Services Agency in San Mateo. Many foster youth are unable to reliably access the internet, which adversely impacts their learning in the digital age. Enabling access to technology will improve their chances of pursuing higher education and therefore better employment opportunities. If you would like to support this program, schedule a Business Pickup or drop off your unwanted electronics at Burlingame EcoCenter.
