Rihanna has released her new vegan skincare line called Fenty Skin that puts sustainability in the first place.

Best-selling music artist, actress, and businesswoman Rihanna has released her new vegan skincare line called Fenty Skin that puts sustainability in the first place. These unisex skincare products are designed to reduce waste, protect biodiversity, and preserve coral reefs.

The brand insists on minimal packaging, reducing new plastic generated per unit, and incorporating post-consumer recycled material.

According to the Environmental Leader, Fenty Skin’s Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Sunscreen comes in a cartridge that clicks into the holster.

“Once the pump is tapped out, the product is refillable with a replacement cartridge. The brand sees refillable systems as the future, pitching them to consumers as ‘less packaging and less expensive, but a more luxurious experience.’ The Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum has a thick texture that allows the product to go directly on the skin, eliminating the need for consumers to use cotton rounds for application.”

Throughout their skincare line, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is also trying to incorporate post-consumer materials into product bottles, tubes, and jars.

The brand also issued online guides that show consumers how to recycle each part of the products.

Fenty Skin invests in responsible ingredient sourcing. Their SPF moisturizer does not contain oxybenzone or octinoxate, chemicals that are common in sunscreen ingredients but contribute to coral bleaching.
