Burberry has taken several significant and strategic shifts towards becoming carbon neutral.

People don't often pay too much attention to the fashion industry's carbon footprint, but Burberry has taken the initiative to take some more meaningful actions from their end.

This will include common steps that offset their carbon emissions from production and major events, but they are taking some additional steps.

Burberry has included significant and strategic shifts towards becoming carbon neutral in more than one way.

“Burberry is pleased to announce that its Autumn/Winter 2020 runway show will be certified as carbon neutral as it takes measures to both reduce and offset the carbon emissions tied to the event. Burberry is also creating a Regeneration Fund to support a portfolio of carbon insetting projects to directly tackle the environmental impact of Burberry’s operations.”

The company has also funded reforestation projects for Australian areas where wildfires have caused unimaginable destruction to the environment.

With cotton being one of their primary resources, they will also be taking steps through carbon insetting projects that deal with carbon emissions at the source.

It's great to see more meaningful actions like this taking place, and hopefully, other companies will follow the lead.
