Computer Recycling in Larkspur
Business pickup for retired computers, with tracking and data destruction you can document.
An office refresh, a move, or a lease ending tends to leave a room full of old computers. GreenCitizen’s computer recycling for Larkspur businesses starts with a pickup at your office.
Major items are tracked from the moment we collect them. You decide how the data on each drive is destroyed.
Pickup is free with 5 or more qualifying items. With fewer, your estimate shows a standard logistics fee before anything is scheduled.

Get DirectionsWhy Larkspur Businesses Choose GreenCitizen for Computer Recycling
Most offices only retire computers every few years. When it comes up, the job usually lands on someone who already has a full week. Here’s how we make it simpler.
Pickup when your office needs it
We come to your Larkspur office in a window that fits your schedule. On a tight deadline? Request immediate pickup within 24 hours, or same-day service when you submit before 11:00 AM.
Major items tracked by ID
Major items are scanned into AGTAMS, the AI-powered GreenCitizen Total Accountability Management System, at pickup. Each one gets its own ID that follows it through processing. If a client asks about a specific machine, you have an answer.
Data destruction on your terms
Some drives should be wiped so the hardware can be reused. Others should be destroyed outright. You choose, category by category. If a drive fails erasure, we destroy it physically at no added cost.
One request for the whole job
An office move rarely involves only computers. Servers, switches, and monitors can all go on the same pickup. You submit one form, and one visit clears the room.
Business Computer Recycling in Larkspur: What Local Services Cover
Larkspur requires every business to carry garbage, recycling, and compost service with Marin Sanitary Service, the city’s franchised hauler. Electronics aren’t part of that service. Computers and monitors can’t go in any of the carts.
Larkspur also has no electronics drop-off within city limits. The nearest options are in San Rafael, including the county’s household hazardous waste facility. It’s a valuable program for keeping toxic materials out of Marin’s landfills, and eligible businesses can use it. Business drop-off is by appointment only, on a limited number of weekdays, and fees apply.
That leaves the work with your team. Someone wipes the drives, packs the equipment, and drives it to San Rafael for an open slot. The equipment is gone afterward. What you don’t get is a device-level record or proof of how the data was handled.
| What to compare | Doing it yourself | GreenCitizen pickup |
|---|---|---|
| Getting it there | Your team packs it and drives it over | We come to your office to pick it up |
| Scheduling | A few collection days each month | Booked around your business, with urgent options |
| Data on the drives | Your team wipes drives before drop-off | Erasure or destruction to NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 1, onsite data destruction is available too |
| Tracking | No record of individual devices | An AGTAMS ID for every major item |
| Documentation | Not designed for audits | Certificate of Destruction available |
| Cost | Staff time, plus any facility fees | Free at 5+ qualifying items |
What Your Larkspur Business Receives After Pickup
The pickup is the part you see. The records are the part you keep.
- An AGTAMS record of major items. Each major item we collect carries its own ID, so you can trace a single machine rather than a total weight.
- A Certificate of Destruction. A $5-per-device add-on, matched to AGTAMS IDs. When a customer's security questionnaire asks how you retire drives, this is your answer.
- Weight reports and certificates of recycling. Paid add-ons for ESG reporting or weight diversion data.
Add the records you need when you submit your request.
An Established Bay Area Recycler Since Earth Day 2005
GreenCitizen has served Bay Area businesses since Earth Day 2005. For two decades, we’ve picked up, tracked, and processed electronics for offices of every size.
Our totals so far: 34,006,783Â lbs recycled, 75,019 business customers, and 414,161Â individuals.
That track record is what stands behind you when equipment with company data leaves your building.
Reuse First
We check working equipment for reuse first. The rest is broken down so its materials can be recovered.
Processed in the United States
Equipment goes only to downstream partners certified to R2 and e-Stewards standards, and processing stays in the US.
Data handled to recognized standards
Erasure follows NIST SP 800-88. DoD 5220.22-M is available when a contract calls for it.
