Sustainability Account Manager
Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Burlingame headquarters. We are seeking a local, mission-driven professional with 3 to 10 years of experience who possesses a deep passion for environmental sustainability and genuinely enjoys face-to-face, email, and phone-based customer interactions.
This role is a unique hybrid of commercial account management, retail sales, and hands-on center operations. It is ideal for a highly detail-oriented individual who excels at multi-tasking and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
Please note: Remote work is not available for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management: Proactively engage with current and prospective SF Bay Area business clients via phone and email to build lasting partnerships.
- Customer Service: Provide high-quality service to walk-in customers and educate visitors on the critical importance of responsible electronics recycling.
- Center Operations: Facilitate the physical intake of recycling drop-offs at the center and contribute to the continuous improvement of the retail environment.
- Sales & Outreach: Execute sales for specialized services (hard disk destruction, Styrofoam recycling) and drive consumer outreach through marketing events.
- Data Management: Maintain meticulous records of all activities in our custom CRM (currently migrating to an AI-based system).
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve customer concerns with the utmost professionalism.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3 to 10 years of professional experience in customer service, sales, or account management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, specifically in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or Business-related majors.
- Values: Demonstrated commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
- Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and a general understanding of electronics hardware.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and maintain good physical condition for daily center operations.
- Logistics: Must live locally within a reasonable commute to Burlingame, look for a long-term role, and pass background and drug screening checks. [5]
